About us
Hatch was born out of the creative minds of two Suffolk natives who shared an interest in design, making, and a pint in the local pub. Pete, with years of skilled boat-building and traditional carpentry experience, and Matt’s product design credentials (BA Honours in Contemporary Furniture) led to the creation of successful manufacturing company Redhut CNC.
Through their work and customer relationships, they recognised a gap in the market for high-quality, unique tableware and accessories. On a personal level, they wanted to encourage a shift away from mass-produced items with less than perfect eco-credentials. And so, Hatch was launched.
Three collections of unique, eye-catching products were curated: Origin, Heritage and Vivid, with each product designed to compliment and inspire.
Mission and values
At Hatch, our mission is to create beautiful products that not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of any space but also promote sustainability and responsible production.
We use eco-friendly, high quality materials such as PLA, cork, oak and birch plywood that are extremely durable, meaning each Hatch product is built to last. If it doesn’t, we’ll fix it.
We’re an honest, transparent business and enjoy working with like-minded people, supporting our local community initiatives where we can. We’re also always looking to improve our environmental footprint.
Our Craft
We like to be hands-on. Every Hatch piece is designed and made in our large Suffolk workshop (2247 sq ft) and we have a fantastic range of machinery, including CNC machines, laser-cutters and 3D printers. Not only that, both Pete and Matt continue to pursue new skills and refine their craft, pushing the boundaries and enjoying the challenges along the way.
Every Hatch piece is hand-finished and checked – a testament to our commitment to craftsmanship.
